Duon Beach House – Alex Scally (gitarr, keyboard) och Victoria Legrand (orgel, sång) – från Baltimore, USA, är aktuella med en ny skiva. sin tredje. Den heter Teen dream och bjuder liksom föregångarna på vacker och ödslig folkrock.

Fleet Foxes sångare Robin Peckhold säger så här om Beach House och nya skivan:

”Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally are two caring individuals from Baltimore, Maryland, who write some of the best songs being written these days. Teen dream is their third album and in my opinion is the classic album they have been circling around since they began making records. It sounds wounded but proud, and evokes Blood on the tracks to me in its summation of that unique feeling. Musically unimpeachable and exciting, multidimensional writing and chord changes. Once I tried to ask Victoria (who is incidentally the best female singer currently going) where their chords come from and I didn’t really understand the answer – I’ve got a small mind compared to these two. This is a record at once immediately accessible and relatable but also mysterious and unknowable and sometimes sad feeling. But never melodramatic. All of this is draped on the sturdiest, most beautifully unique polyphonic arrangements. There’s a sort of a woozy, hazy quality gauzed over it all that nicely echoes the title. I admire the craftsmanship.”

Beach House följer upp skivan med en turné, som bl a når Sverige i slutet av februari. Den 27 februari spelar de på Debaser Slussen i Stockholm och den 2 mars Pusterviksbaren i Göteborg. Läs mer här.
