I februari väntar storfrämmande i fyra svenska orter. Då besöker nämligen tjejen med countryns kanske finaste musikaliska gener Sverige: Holly Williams, barnbarn till Hank Williams, dotter till Hank Williams Jr och halvsyster till Hank III.

Efter att ha släppt en egen EP och turnerat med bl a Ron Sexsmith och Billy Bob Thornton släppte Holly Williams 2004 sin fullängdsdebut The ones we never knew. Det dröjde ända till 2009 innan uppföljaren Her with me släpptes. Det långa uppehållet berodde bl a på skivbolagsstrul och en svår bilolycka som krävde lång rehabilitering. Olyckan höll på att ta både hennes och hennnes syster Hilarys liv. Hon berättar starkt om olyckan i sången Without Jesus here with me på nya skivan:

Och nu är hon alltså tillbaka på allvar – två av låtarna från Here with me gick direkt in på den amerikanska Billboardlistan.

Holly Williams musik är en mix av singer-songwriter/americana och country, där hennes röst känns betydligt mognare än hennes 29 år. Det är en röst som doftar erfarenhet, vilket också understryks av hennes texter.

Malmös stolthet Andi Almqvist, aktuell med sin tredje skiva Glimmer, följer med som support på Sverige-spelningarna.
